After I ate pho (leftover) and got a haircut with my daddy this morning, I went home and relaxed for a bit, before Earle invited me to Golden West College with him. We went to Wells Fargo for him to cash his check, and then Pizza Hut to ultimately eat, before going to his Physics class. [I snapped a picture of the nice looking clouds and the sunny weather, emergent from one of my wettest mornings ever. Bipolar weather.] It was the dullest thing ever, but it was nice seeing Albert Le again in class, and Justin Bouavanh in the parking lot. Me and Earle contemplated the possibility of creating a magazine business. After going home, I played on my computer for a bit before eating dinner with the …

It’s good to finally be back in Orange County! After waking up today at a ridiculously early time (8 AM), Alex generously drove me back to Garden Grove so I could spend my spring break at home. The entire day literally had me going from location to location visiting key sights in Orange County, tasting things being involved in the entire process. My mom generously gave me half a meal – with some KFC chicken and rice to stuff my face in as I got back. About an hour later Theresa would take me to meet Earle at several locations in Irvine. First, we got tasty sandwiches at Le Diplomatic Cafe, and went to Cha for Tea to get a drink. This was where I broke my lent for …
February 13th, 2011
Today was half fun, and half work, but that’s a good thing. All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, right? EXCEPT Jack Bauer is never dull; he’s as sharp as a knife.
Anyway, I woke up today, and immediately went to have Pho at Pho T Cali with Alex, her roommate (whose name I can’t remember right now), and Lauren Coleman. Hence, that is ultimately my highlight and thus my picture of the day – the people in the picture can be ignored though. It reminded me of the times in February 2010 when I would go EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY with Alexis, Howard, John Torres, and Leandro. Sadly, those times are gone, but it was quite nice to be able to have my first taste …
January 2nd 2011
I expected my day to start in Orange County (Garden Grove) and officially end in San Diego (La Jolla). Instead, I spent the entire day in Orange County at home. Thus the choice was easy for my Project 365 Picture of the day- I spent a majority of my day at home, and thus it only made sense to include a picture of my house, in the rain.
Speaking of the rain, it was raining quite tumultuously today. Of course, we all must take a lesson from Luke Bryan in stressing that “Rain makes corn. Corn makes whiskey. Whiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky”. One might know if one looked at my December 2010 Calendar that the weather in Garden Grove has been a little more wet than usual. In fact, …
In Pictorial Form:
August is over! WHAT?! WHAT?!??! It’s September. Oh my, how fast this summer has past by. Basically, if we were to describe July in one word: Summer Session I, and August in one word: Summer Session II. Yawns. Some highlights of the month include the Weezer concert, Jonny’s birthday party, and perhaps going through all 10 seasons of Degrassi (quite an achievement). Although, on retrospect I love Emma Nelson, Season 1-7, and seasons 10 (Season 8 & 9 suck).
Other than that though it’s been a pretty dry month. I only went to Phil’s twice, hopefully I can top that next month. Yeah that’s about it. My class COCU178 has been relatively interesting. I got to watch a bunch of tv shows, and write approximately 2 essays. My final is technically tomorrow, but I’m not too worried because I can …
July is over! And oh man, what a month it has been. This month has really been good for my mental & physical well-being, considering I feel a lot better about myself in comparison to last year.
I wish I could say my departure from the word of facebook for a month was the line of reasoning for this mood shift. But seriously, there’s just SO MANY factors that could have contributed to my happiness. Although I figured out pretty soon logistically during the month of June that Facebook was certainly NOT making me happy, in more ways than one. Let’s see:
1) I started doing P90x, and exercising on a daily basis. Maybe a better physical well-being contributes to a better mental well-being?
2) It’s summer, for goodness sakes. And although last July it wasn’t this great, this time I’m not …
Here’s a summary of my month:
Finals are coming up, which means I need to start studying :(. Here’s a tentative finals schedule, subject to change of course.
Finally, I’ve finalized my summer plans. I will be living with John Torres, Leandro, and Howard in the summer, working at EH&S While taking two classes: COSF100 (Introduction to Communication as a Social Force) and COCU100. Here are my tentative summer schedules:
That’s all for now. I’ll keep ya’ll posted
As promised, instead of “weekly updates” this quarter I am providing a comprehensive list of “monthly updates”, starting with the month of April.
April in essence was a decent month. Starting off the month with a holiday (April Fool’s), is always good, regardless of whether or not you would consider it an actual holiday! But I ramble on…
So here, in picture form is a comprehensive pictorial form of my month:
Regardless of whether or not you see the convoluted mess I call a calendar, I’ll give some thoughts regarding my courses this quarter. As previously mentioned, I dropped Asian-American history because I found it a dull subject, and I wasn’t really too eager to write a 10-page paper about a topic I didn’t care about.
HIUS150 [American Legal History]. Like. Professor is a bit dull at times, but I find the particular subject …
Here are some revelations I discovered this quarter…
1. I love Phil’s BBQ. I’m willing to eat it daily if I could afford it (and if it was close by). Shut down all 6 dining halls and replace them all with Phil’s, and I’d be super happy. BTW, to Theresa: Phil’s > Lucille’s.
2. When girls wear two layers of clothing, and the girl’s inner layer is longer than the outer layer, it’s cute. But when guys attempt to do it, not so much.
3. Restrooms, often, especially at UCSD, have one huge wide area/room space for a toilet, and one squeezed in area room. Didn’t quite understand that.
4. Jack Bauer + Rachel Berry = Miley Cyrus.
5. Relient K and Michelle Branch are not too bad. In retrospect, I should have waited out until listening to their music, because I’m sort of already …
Here’s a basic skeleton of my week, from a merely superficial perspective:
To expand, my week went by very well. I feel very accomplished for finishing my HIUS101 essay, and I get to register for classes next week ! I’m debating whether to do a Tuesday-Thursday schedule for next quarter though, cause it seems to be awfully repetitive, and I want some diversity/change in my life for Spring Quarter. I’m also going to look into internship programs for the summer next quarter at the Academic Internship Programming office in the literature building. I’m also debating whether to take 4 or 5 classes (I could also take 3, but I feel the new need to challenge myself). The week is almost over now, but I’m craving Phil’s (as I have been for a long time). Also, my mommy forgot to pack …
